Don't Be
Like a Child…
·
1 Corinthians 13:11-12 When I
was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I
put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling
reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.
All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything
completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Galatians 4:3 And that’s the way it was
with us before Christ came. We were like children; we were slaves to the basic
spiritual principles of this world.
·
Ephesians 4:11-16 Now these are the gifts
Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the
pastors and teachers. Their
responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church,
the body of Christ. This will continue
until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we
will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like
children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We
will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they
sound like the truth. Instead, we will
speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is
the head of his body, the church. He
makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special
work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and
growing and full of love.
Be Like a
Child…

Matthew 18:1-4 About that time the
disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”
Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said,
“I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little
children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes
as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Luke 10:21 At that same time Jesus was
filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven
and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves
wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it
pleased you to do it this way."
·
Matthew 21:15-16 The leading priests and the
teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the
children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But the leaders were indignant. 16 They asked
Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read
the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you
praise.’”

Mark 10:13-16 One day some parents
brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the
disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was
angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t
stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these
children. I tell you the truth, anyone
who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then
he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and
blessed them.
